Does my Property Insurance include Flood Coverage?

Flood insurance is usually not covered in home insurance policies. This insurance is managed through the National Flood Insurance Program under the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), or through private insurance companies. If your property is in a flood zone, your mortgage creditor, insurance representative, or insurance company could require an additional Flood Insurance Policy.
