Intermediary (Correspondent) Banks

  1. To receive or send transfers from abroad, Banco Popular requires the participation of an intermediary bank in the United States.
  2. If the sending bank does not provide an intermediary, the originator may select one of their preferences.
  3. Banks participating as intermediaries must have an active contract to send funds to their final destination.
  4. All banks maintain a list of correspondent banks that may be used to send funds.
