Why the $8 fee in my MultiCuenta Popular?

MultiCuenta Popular must maintain a minimum balance of $500.00 in the checking section or $1,000.00 in the savings section during every day of the statement cycle. If the balance falls from the minimum required at any moment in either section, the account generates a service charge of $8.00.   The service charge will also not apply if you maintain a combined balance of $10,000.00 or more in IRA or Certificates of Deposit at the end of monthly cycle. Only the combined balances of the primary client will be considered. In Stock Market IRA accounts, the deposited amount will be considered, and not its appreciated value.
