| After the sixth (6th) anniversary of the opening of this account, Banco Popular will automatically convert it to another account of its choice, unless you provide current and satisfactory proof of enrollment in an educational program. You will receive a notification on your account statement requesting this proof before any conversion takes place (if applicable). The notification will describe the features and fees of the new account that Banco Popular will apply if it does not receive proof of enrollment. |
This account is available to individuals between the ages of 18 and 25.
Upon turning 26 (which applies to new or existing accounts), Banco Popular will automatically convert the account to another of its choice. You will receive a notification by mail along with the new account’s Characteristics and Fees. |
1 Check order fees apply depending on checkbook design. You can request checks at any of our branches, through Mi Banco or TeleBanco Popular®.
2The fee will not be charged if you do not make any transactions in your deposit account (deposits, withdrawals, or payments). The inactivity period remains in place; thus, it is important that you continue making transactions in your account to avoid its status changing to inactive and your money being remitted to the Office of the Commissioner of Financial Institutions (OCIF), in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. As a reminder, if you do not make any transaction in a 6-month period, your account will be considered inactive.
3 No overdraft fee will be charged on this account. In addition, Banco Popular de Puerto Rico’s Overdraft Policies will not apply to, nor will they be available for this account. This means that we will decline and return as unpaid those transactions for which you do not have sufficient funds in your account. Although the account generally does not permit overdrafts, your balance may become negative in certain situations. When this occurs, we will not charge you overdraft fees. This could occur, for example, when you authorize a payment with your debit card for an amount less than the amount received by the bank (for example, the added tip for a payment at a restaurant).
